Microtek’s unique auto-focussing system adjusts the scanner carriage and film holder (as opposed
to the lens position) to automatically achieve the most accurate focus across the entire film length.
Keeping the lens and CCD static results in increased dynamic range compared to other systems.
Motion Correction Control™
Microtek developed this technology to eliminate problems that occur naturally as the scanner ages.
Over time, motor deviation can result in inferior scans. Motion Correction Control™ registers the
mechanical steps with very fine precision and adjusts to ensure smooth, precise scan-head movement.
As the scanner ages, the image quality delivered by this scanner will remain optimal.
Glass-free scanning
This scanner has no extra glass in the
path between the light source and the
CCD. This dramatically reduces unwanted
distortions caused by glass and
eliminates Newton Rings.
Auto-focussing
To achieve optimal scans, the ArtixScan
4000tf moves the film holder assembly in
the vertical axis to achieve the sharpest
focus across the length of the scan.
Standard Auto-focus
Standard systems move the lens to focus the light from the scan head. This
can reduce the dynamic range of the scanner.
